Open Road acquires US rights for ‘Finding Steve McQueen’ at EFM
So far it’s been a successful EFM (European Film Market) for our crime-thriller ‘Finding Steve McQueen’ where its US distribution rights were acquired by Open Road Films. There are talks that Open Road is planning a wide theatrical release next year, with an impressive 1500 screen commitment.
‘Finding Steve McQueen’ follows a gang of thieves from Youngstown, Ohio in their attempt to steal $30 million in illegal contributions and blackmail money from President Richard Nixon’s secret fund. If this logline sounds familiar, it’s probably because it’s based on the true story of the biggest bank heist in US history, which took place in 1972.
This explosive, character-driven picture will keep you guessing right till the very end, and stars Travis Fimmel (‘Warcraft: The Beginning’), Forest Whitaker (‘Arrival’), William Fichtner (‘The Dark Knight’) and Rachael Taylor (‘Transformers’).
“Open Road has outlined a masterful marketing and distribution plan that will allow this film to perform very well” said AMBI’s Andrea Lervolino, who negotiated the deal with Open Road alongside AMBI’s Silvio Muraglia and Joseph Cohen of Paradox Studios.
